The Alpine Thermal has been designed for cool/cold weather rides and/or commuting in predominantly dry conditions. Because of it's 3 rear pockets, zippered valuables pocket, breathable, stretch fabric and reflective features, this jersey is one of the most versatile garments we manufacture. Alone it performs well in temperatures ranging between 40-65°F, with various vest and base layer combinations you can easily stay warm down into the low 30's.

Reflective placements are subtle, yet extremely bright (350+ Lumens), and have been strategically placed for maximum visibility; on the forearms and down either side of the rear pockets. The locking YKK zipper also has reflectivity down both sides of the teeth. MicroTek Supreme™ fabric across the front,  shoulder panels and arms is exceptionally good at blocking wind chill. Zero-Weight mesh in the side panels, arm insets and back offers excellent stretch and breathability during periods of increased effort. A two-way YKK zipper (with reflective taping down both sides of the teeth) makes for easy access to pockets at a stop or when riding. The packability of the Divide is one of its highlights. Roll, scrunch or fold it into one of the rear pockets of your Jersey and you will still have room left to store other items for your all day adventure.

If you've previously purchased an Ascent jersey, you will notice the complete redesign of this garment for 2020! Most noticeable is the new collar, which has been entirely rethought for improved comfort. With a lower set point in front and a tapered design, we've increased comfort for when the jersey is fully zipped. Speaking of zippers, another big change is the new YKK semi-auto lock zipper, which  features a textured rubber pull for better gripping. The biggest advantage of a locking zipper is the ability for the wearer to singlehandedly unzip and open their jersey for venting. Merely flip the pull up to unlock the zipper.

Then, with one hand, the jersey can be pulled open. Flip the pull back down to lock the zipper pull in place. We are also really excited about the new pocket design, which incorporates a stretchy and more durable opening and an innovative bellows at the bottom that expands when stuffed with larger objects. And finally, we removed the waist gripper from the front half of the jersey, not only to reduce weight, but to create more comfort and less binding when in the riding position.

We didn’t want to bog the Tellus collection down with excessive bells and whistles. Instead, we chose to focus on creating an off-road kit that disappears on your body. 

FIT & DESIGN

The Tellus Jersey is designed with a trim, on bike fit. This means you won’t have fabric billowing all over the place on long open sections of gravel or when ripping down your favorite singletrack. We also made sure to build in a rear-drop that is substantial enough to cover your back while in an aggressive riding position. A hidden terry-wipe allows for quick cleaning of sunglasses.

FABRICS & CONSTRUCTION

The Tellus Jersey is constructed primarily from an Italian 4-way stretch knit mesh that is super light, extremely breathable and surprisingly durable. The dimensionality of the knit holds portions of the fabric off your skin to maximize airflow and the wicking of perspiration. We used an even more durable BreatheLITE fabric under the arms to increase rub-durability in critical areas.

Hexagonal Mesh: We used a hexagonal mesh in strategic locations not only because it has a stunning appearance, but because it offers exceptional breathability, facilitates stretch and reduces the weight of the garment.
