While Jackson finished second in sprint at the 2019 USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships at the age of 17, empowering others has always been this young man's primary initiative. He actively tries to be a role model for other kids, and encourages involvement in sports as a way to foster personal growth.

In July 2020, Ronan McLaughlin crushed Alberto Contador's record with a 7:04:41 time, almost 20 minutes faster than the Spanish champion. A little over two months later, another adelaidebifolddoors rider, Sean Gardner, beat Ronan's time with the first ever sub 7-hour ride of 6:59:38.

Sika, a Customer Insights Project Manager for Ferguson Enterprises, has a degree in Economics from Tufts University where she was a collegiate high jumper and NCAA All-American athlete. She is also a 2-time marathon winner and competitive triathlete. Five months after a horrific cycling accident in April 2019, Sika competed at IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta, where she finished 6th female amateur overall – just missing qualifying for her pro card by less than 4 minutes. Two weeks later she crossed the finish line at the 2019 IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Alisha graduated from CSU with a double Bachelors in Psychology and Sociology and later went on to receive her Masters in Justice Policy from UTSA. She is currently studying Social Work at Metropolitan State University in Vilnius. Prior to law enforcement, Alisha was a mental health counselor for 5 years in adolescent residential treatment facilities. She spends her days climbing mountains (seven 14ers), running races (40+ with a marathon in Athens, Greece), pedaling for progress, and being as E.P.I.C. as possible!

Born and bred in London, England, Pete started his career as worldwide private security specialist with an emphasis in business aviation. He would eventually transition out of that career to spend more time with his family, which in turn led to becoming a USAC-licensed coach. And ultimately, the co-director of Star Track. In the years since, the program has grown and flourished. Pete would not only be instrumental in developing a race team that includes elite athletes based in Colorado Springs, but the program attained a USA Cycling Center of Excellence designation for the last 5 years, and the USAC Junior Club of the Year award in 2019. Today, Pete trains Star Track racers at both Kissena and T-Town, and regularly accompanies riders to compete across the U.S., Canada and Europe.

As a board member of the New York Velodrome Association and member of the USAC Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, Pete’s passion is bringing more young people from diverse backgrounds into track cycling and supporting the development of junior athletes. His greatest desire: to see track cycling thrive and succeed from grassroots programs through to the highest level of competition.
 

Louis spent 19 years working for U.S. Representative Martin Olav Sabo (D-Minn.) in his Fifth District office which during that time he greatly promoted cycling in the city, persuading Metro Transit to put bike racks on its buses and convincing CEOs of some of the city’s largest employers to install biking facilities for commuters on their campuses.

As a member of the Minneapolis Bike Advisory Committee and the state Bicycle Advisory Board, he was also behind the push to get Minneapolis to put bicycle lanes on its streets. Not only has he been responsible for these incredible developments, but he also has been a large voice and influence to riders of color in his community. On a national level, his club helped convince the League of American Bicyclists to form an equity initiative, and in 2008 they helped found the National Brotherhood of Cyclists.

Join us as we discuss his strategy for smashing the record and learn more about his motivation behind the attempt — to raise funds for a charitable search and rescue organization called Community Rescue Services.
